We are now looking for a Meeting and Event Manager who wants to be part of our journey to create fantastic experiences at Billingehus.
We seek someone who has the ability to enhance our guests' stay with us, a true star in service who loves to drive projects from idea to reality. With an unbeatable location at the top of Billingen, in the heart of Western Sweden, Billingehus is the perfect place to meet in the middle and has all the prerequisites to create unforgettable events. We have 20 unique venues for every occasion and also a congress area for 750 people. Here we welcome everything from small conferences to large congresses and fairs, as well as weddings, parties, and pop-up events.
About the Position
In the role of Meeting & Event Manager, you will lead and develop meetings, conferences, and events at Billingehus – from business meetings and conferences to parties, weddings, and other arrangements. Together with your team, you are responsible for the entire guest journey, from planning and booking to execution and follow-up, with the goal of creating high quality, good results, and satisfied guests.
You will be responsible for the sales process all the way from pricing and quoting to customer contacts, customer care, and some proactive sales. The role involves close collaboration both internally and externally to ensure that each event meets the highest possible standards. An important part of the work is also the department's quality assurance tasks (QA – Quality Assessment), where you both lead and participate operationally.
As the department head, you have operational and personnel responsibility with a focus on scheduling, recruitment, short- and long-term personnel planning, and creating effective routines in daily operations. You will actively participate in the operational activities by receiving bookings, conducting reviews, planning events, and hosting our guests. You ensure the right technology, furniture, and practical conditions for each meeting and event in close collaboration with other departments.
The role also includes some budget responsibility and administrative tasks such as time reporting, contract follow-up, invoice management, and statistics. You lead the workgroup towards common goals and create a safe, professional, and welcoming environment where guests can relax and feel well taken care of.
You report to the reception and booking manager, with some parts of the position reporting to the hotel director. About You
We are looking for someone with at least five years of experience in the hotel, conference, and event industry, with several years in meeting and/or event operations. You have previously worked in a similar role with departmental responsibility within hotels and meetings. Relevant education in the field is an advantage, as well as knowledge of AV technology.
You are a strategic and structured administrator who thrives on having order and clarity, while also loving to be the spider in the web and project-managing both large and small meetings. With a strong guest focus, drive, and a natural service spirit, you see sales as an obvious service tool and are proactive in customer contacts where you build long-term relationships.
As a person, you are solution-oriented, organized, and have the ability to see both the big picture and the details. You are attentive to the guests' needs and wishes, which makes it easy for you to create good collaborations with guests, colleagues, and other departments. With your creative flair, you package the perfect arrangement for each guest and contribute to developing new concepts together with the team.
You motivate and engage those around you and take responsibility for ensuring that the team works towards common goals. With the motto Proud with Passion, you always put the guest at the center and have a clear ambition to drive and develop the event department forward.
You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
